Aion is a MMORPG which means Massively Multi-player online role playing game in Japan. Until May 20, 2009 this game was known as Aion: The Tower of Eternity. But it was released in the United States of America with a single name Aion. This game was released by NCsoft which is one of the chief Korean game developers. The game unites PvP and PvE in a dream game atmosphere. The developers name this concept of PvP and PvE as PvPvE. This game was released in US at 22nd September, 2009.

The game begins when player have to make a choice on which world to select. Elysea or Asmodae are the two available options. Players start as human inhabitants of the world they have selected. These inhabitants are basically mercenaries or raiders who are given small tasks to accomplish. When they accomplish these tasks their magnitude increases. This prevents Balaur from being called up at the beginning zone. These inhabitants then ascend as immortal, winged Daevas. Players then become the holy servants of their respective peoples and they travel their capital cities to begin their new lives. Between the worlds the story and tone of the game changes, the landscape and characters in Aion also changes with the progress of the game. Linear progression throughout the game is same.

The best feature of this game is the character customization. In this you are given complete control as to decide the look of the character. You can decide the hair styles, facial textures, skin colors, voices, etc of your character. Even more detailing can be done in this game like eye shape, nose shape, color of the eye, tattoos and ear size and shape. Aion will allow their player to color their equipment. It also allows you to change the graphics of the weapon or armor to that of another weapon that you have in your catalog. Players can only change the graphics of the weapons with the other ones.

You cannot perform skills that you have achieved with the progression of the game randomly. It has to be done in a certain order. In Aion the skill located nearer in the chain are not as powerful as those which are situated farther. In the game of Aion there are eight specialized classes and four primary classes. Warrior, Priest, Mage and Scout are the primary classes out of which player have to select one. Gaining level 9 players can choose from the two specialized classes which are associated with their primary classes. For example a Warrior may become a Gladiator or Templar, a Priest can choose from Cleric or Chanter, Mage can choose from Sorcerer or Spirit Master and Scout can become Ranger or Assassin.

A group of six can be formed in this game and they can reap the benefits of victory. Certain aspects of Aion are designed especially for Group play and a group is required at these areas. For situations which demands greater requirement of number of players an Alliance of four groups can be formed. When you are in an Alliance you cannot take full benefits of the reward that you receive when the task for your single group is completed. Flying which is an exciting aspect of the game is allowed only in certain areas and allowed only for 60 seconds. This time limit can be extended with some upgrades.
