Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City is the sixth in the series of Grand Theft. It is a fantastic 3 Dimensional experience. Grand Theft Auto IV is based on the concept of the fictional idea of the Liberty City, designed on the model of New York. A war veteran from an unknown land, named Niko Bellic, comes to the city to materialize and make true his dreams but later he turns a prey to the gangsters and mafia sort of people in the city of New York.

Grand Theft Auto IV is the first console game in the series to support the multiplayer feature. The freedom granted to the player to do anything he likes, to let go wherever he wants to go and to defer a mission at any stage of the game along with choosing multiple missions at a time are really the unique features of the game and add an element of interest to the game. The non-linear view also adds color and variety to the game. The player do have a linear story line yet they can divert from it if they so decide.

Gunfight is a unique experience in Grand Theft Auto IV as you can shoot freely and indiscriminately and even the individual body parts. Hand to hand fights have added moves than the past games and your player can jump, run, kick, disarm the enemy and counter attack. If the player loses power by meeting an accident or receiving injuries, there are dozens of ways to refuel the power – calling a prostitute being one of them.

Different security agencies pursue the player at different wanted levels. The player uses a variety of cars to travel and chase, he can skip travel costing him a lot of money. The different expressions of the player after every bike crash add an air of reality to the game which was previously missing. Communication is done as the cell phone has replaced the public call office in the previous versions of the game. Cell phone makes possible communication at multiple levels.

The most interesting addition to the previous additions in Grand Theft Auto IV as opposed to Grand Theft Auto III, is that the player besides having access to web,  can also surf the web and use the computer to access the criminal record of the city lying with the police. 15 different modes and as many as 32 players playing it simultaneously are really unique features in the gaming world.

The Grand Theft Auto IV has two possible endings – depending on the choice you make, but in both cases the antagonists have to die and the protagonist lives. There are certain grey areas in the game as some episodes contain nudity which is not so common to be had in the videogames. Moreover, there have been reports of the side effects of the game in the form of the youth getting inspiration from Grand Theft Auto IV and getting involved in crimes and carjacking attempts. Overall, the game Grand Theft Auto IV is serene, superb and the most successful game till date.

GTA IV is available for PC, Xbox and PS3.
