Mass Effect 2 is a thrilling sequel to Mass Effect. It is developed by BioWare and is an action-based game. Electronic Arts is publishing the game. This game is the second game of the series and it was launched on Pc and Xbox 360 on 26th January 2010. The game has many interesting characters which keeps you stuck to your monitor screens for hours. The characters in fact are more detailed graphically and technically in this version of the game.

Commander Shepard, the lead and most exciting character of the game who died in the hands of mysteriously alien characters known as the Collectors in the earlier version is revived in this part. Commander Shepard is revived by Cerberus which is an enigmatic organization two years later after the attack. He is then handed over the task of finding the reason behind Collectors snatching every human colony. He is also given the task of finding more about the Collectors.

Mass Effect 2 has many new features to go with it which were absent in the earlier version. In this the combat system of the game is highly updated. From the feel of combat to the A.I.,  everything is upgraded. Realistic damage modeling is also upgraded due to which you will find downed enemies still crawling and fighting. The Heavy Weapons System which is a new edition to the series will enable you to kill an enemy thousand times. In the first version of the game medi-gel was used to heal and regain health, it is used in this version also but to help downed allies.  This version features regenerating health as its main strength mechanic. In this series weapons use ammunition unlike the earlier version of the game. The best thing about this version of the game is that Commander Shepard has over 200 animations over compared to just 20 in the earlier version.

The Camera angles in Mass Effect 2 are also improved and it now provides more cinematic touch to the game. In this version of the game there are now 19 weapons grouped in to 6 types which in the earlier version was 12 weapons grouped in to 4 types. There is also a new class of weapons known as Sub-Machine guns. Loading screens have replaced slow moving elevator in this version of the game. At the end of the game you will see that you will decide the fate of Commander Shepard, whether he will die or survive. And it all is decided by the choices that you make throughout the game. If Commander Shepard stays alive then in Mass Effect 3 you have to use a different saved file. If Commander Shepard is killed then it results into permanent death of the character and it cannot take part in the next version of the game. The plot of this game is very interesting and takes you through various genres.

The plot of Mass Effect 2 is nerve-thrilling. Illusive Man, Commander Shepard, Joker, Mordin Solus are some of the characters that throughout the game keep you at the edge of you seat. Joker and Commander Shepard are the two characters that till the end maintain the suspense of the game. In the final scene it is shown that the Reaper Fleet comes to Milky Way Galaxy thus setting the stage perfectly for Mass Effect 3.
