According to Cryptic studios in the game, each player will be captain of his or her own ship. Players will be serving the Klingon Empire or the United Federation of Planets.  Players can move from one planet to another planet for face-to-face showdowns in the game.  The official release of the game took place at the Star Trek convention Las Vegas in 2008.  The company announced that players could either choose a role of Klingon Officer, or Starfleet to build races.  The adventure of the game takes place in space, abroad ships and on planets.
Cryptic studios added new star systems to the game to enhance its visual effects. The star system intends to open up new areas and give access to new technologies to players.

Combat Systems of the Game

The game has two combat systems, fast pace “run and gun” combat and rapid space combat.  The space combat is about ships and weapons used in space.  The capital ships given to players have special abilities.
