World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is the forthcoming expansion set of the World of warcraft game. Blizzard officially announced its release on the Blizzcon on 21 August 2009. It is much-awaited third release of Multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft, following Wrath of the Lich King and the Burning Crusade.
The game will include two new races: Worgen for the Alliance and Goblins for the Horde. In addition, features like new quests, revamped dungeons, newly accessible areas, and new raids are also included in the game. The company Blizzcon officially confirmed its release on May 3, 2010. Blizzcon revealed that the phase of the game had just begun.
The story of the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is about the return of the evil Dragon Deathwing the Destroyer. Dragon last seen in the Warcraft II game has spent time licking his wounds, waiting for opportunity to come back, and take revenge on Azeroth. The dragon plotted a fiery return from the Deepholm elemental plane.
On other side of the sanctuary, two forces wait to get a hand on kingdom. Alliance and Horde race to cataclysm to occupy it Fearless heroes rise from the battle to protect the kingdom from these two races and the dragon.
New features:
- Level cap increased to 85
- Zones emphasized by the Cataclysm in Eastern kingdoms and Kalmidor. Changes like splitting of Barrens, destruction of wetlands and Maelstrom churns, etc are included in the new version. All these changes found in trail and full versions of the game.
- Worgen for the Alliance is the new race classified into death knight, hunter, druid, priest, mage, rogue, warrior, and warlock.
- Horde for the Goblins race features Hunter, death knight, mage, priest, shaman, rogue, warrior, and warlock.
- Players will be able to use flying mounts, in Azeroth zones. Players are restricted flying in Outland and Northrend in old version.
- Secondary skill: Archeology introduced in the new game. Players can choose to expand racing and class combinations of their characters.
- Six new raid instances, nine new dungeons, and 3000 new quests included in the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.
- Guild Advancement is a new feature where players can progress as a guild to earn guild levels and guild achievements.
- New PvP Zone & Rated Battlegrounds which include PvP objectives and daily quests on Tol Barad Island, a new Wintergrasp-like zone, and wage war in all-new rated Battlegrounds.
- New profession: Archaeology allows playrs to master a new secondary profession to unearth valuable artifacts and earn unique rewards.
- Flying Mounts in Azeroth
Also besides these features, the game uses a new platform that combines platforms of Blizzard games Diablo III and StarCraft II.
Stat Changes Included in the Game
- Armor Penetration removed from new version. However, players can get that armor penetration by increasing their talents and mastery bonuses.
- Attack power removed from the gear. Paladins, death knights, and warriors will gain two-attack power point of strength, hunters and all druids, shammons and rogues will get two-attack point of agility. However, no attack power from strength.
- Defense: It does not exist in the game, but defense rating and defense skills are included in it.
- Parry no longer provides power of attack and increase in attack speed. However, if an attack is parried next attack damage reduced by 50%.
All these changes to the World of Warcraft have boosted the power of the game. The game is under testing and it will be available in market few days. Sources say that the release date of the game may postpone again. No problem even if postponed because the game has all features worth player’s patience.
